Meet the Owner & Lead Technician – Robert Degner
👋 Hey, I'm Robert Degner, owner and lead technician at Zer0 Tech Mobile Repair LLC.
13+ Years of Real Technician Experience, Not Just Oil Changes.
I didn’t start this journey changing oil in a shop or spend a couple of years as a lube tech before deciding to start a business. I’ve spent 13+ years mastering diagnostics and repair through hands on experience in dealerships, fleet repair, diesel shops, heavy equipment, and small engines from the ground up.
🔧 How It All Started:
My passion for repairing vehicles began when I got my first project car, a 1984 Nissan 300ZX. It was old, rough, and barely holding together, the previous owner was going to scrap it, but instead of giving up on the car, I had a desire to rebuild it from the ground up. That was the first time I felt what it was like to bring a car back to life, and that moment sparked something in me.
Later, I owned a Mustang, and one day, the transmission failed. I took it to a small repair shop, expecting a standard fix, but when they gave me the estimate, I quickly realized I couldn’t afford it. I didn’t go in looking for a deal, but the shop owner saw my determination and made me an offer, if I worked at the shop and put in the effort, they would fix my car in return.
So, I did.
I worked in that shop, putting in the hours to pay off the work they did on my car, learning real repair skills in the process. That experience led me to become an apprentice, and from there, I quickly realized I had a natural talent for diagnosing and fixing vehicles.
My expertise pushed me forward. I was encouraged to move to a dealership, where I refined my skills and eventually worked my way up to Master Technician status. But I wasn’t satisfied with just one specialty, I wanted to learn it all.
That drive led me to explore and master:

✔ Fleet Maintenance – Managing and servicing commercial vehicle fleets.
✔ Heavy Machinery – Excavators, skid steers, loaders, and more.
✔ Small Engines – ATVs, generators, and power equipment.
💡 I didn’t take shortcuts to get here. I put in the work. I built my knowledge through hands-on experience, a relentless desire to learn, and a commitment to mastering my craft.
